Words from our Scholarship Recipients

  • Dear Changing Lives Scholarship Committee, Thank you so much for choosing me for the Changing Lives Scholarship. I could not be more proud to represent Court and your family as I take my walk with Christ on this new journey. I hope I will make Court proud as he watches down on me! I will keep you updated! Thank you again.

  • Dear Changing Lives Memorial Scholarship Committee - I cannot express how honored I am to be a recipient of this scholarship. I want to thank you for both the amazing snacks and your support in my future endeavors. I will continue to "think beautiful thoughts" and will always remember the words - "don't be afraid to be great".  Much Love.

  • Dear Changing Lives, I am writing to thank you for your generous Changing Lives Memorial Scholarship. I was very happy and appreciative to know I was selected as the recipient of your scholarship. I will be majoring in child development with hopes to become a preschool teacher in the future. As a first generation graduate, the financial assistance you provided will be a great help to me in paying educational expenses and will allow me to focus more on my time for studying. Thank you again for your generosity and support. It has inspired me to help others and give back to them, both as a teacher and possibly a scholarship to future students like myself.

  • Dear Changing Lives Scholarship Committee, We would like to thank you for choosing us for this scholarship year. We truly appreciate your kindness and generosity. We are planning to attend Biola University in Southern California in the fall. We are really excited to attend college together, since we have never really ever been apart from each other. Ashley is majoring in Education and would like to be an elementary school teacher. She wants to come back to Visalia to teach in the future. Nic is majoring in Kinesiology and wants to be a Physical Therapist. We are so excited to go to college and we really appreciate your gift of a scholarship. We plan to keep in touch with you to let you know how college is going for us. Thank you so much.

  • Dear Changing Lives Committee, I am honored and thrilled to be one of the recipients of the Changing Lives Memorial Scholarship. As the first to go off to college from a low-income family, this scholarship has lightened my financial burden which will allow me to focus more on my education and take full advantage of it. I am going to complete my education at UC Davis as a design major, which will be the start of my career as a green designer. I've always dreamed of designing clothes and materials that will help both our environment and low-income communities. I value education and I hope to learn more about how to help communities around me and our environment's ecosystems. With your generosity, I am given a chance in taking one step closer to that goal.  Thank you again for your generosity and support. You've given me an incredible opportunity and I promise you, I will work very hard to not waste these efforts. In addition, I hope one day I will be able to create these kinds of opportunities to help students achieve their goals just as you have done for me.
